We, VENDEN, support an active, healthy lifestyle and sports, so we are very happy and honoured to be the Official Partner of the IIHF World Hockey Championship for the second time. Throughout the championship - both before the start of the games and during the competition - we provided the Latvian national team, foreign teams and the organizers of the event with VENDEN spring water "Mezavots" and VENDEN natural mineral water.
During the preparation for the championship, we developed a special design for VENDEN Sport 0.75 L bottles of natural mineral water. The slogan of this year’s championship - "We Live the Game" - was depicted on the front, and the official emblem of the 2023 IIHF World Ice Hockey Championship - on the back. Everyone could buy it at sales points throughout Latvia. True hockey fans, on the other hand, had the opportunity to participate in three prediction games organized by us, where, by making guesses about the results, one could get official souvenirs with the symbols of the championship. Activities also took place in social networks of VENDEN.
This year, the championship took place from May 12 to 28 in two cities - with us, in Riga, the capital of Latvia, and in Tampere, Finland. Moreover, it ended with an incredible result, as Latvia gained a historic victory over the USA national team and won the 3rd place of the championship, or bronze medals.
This championship was a true sports celebration for all hockey fans and not only. Together we experienced unforgettable victories, nervous moments and painful losses. But in the end – indescribable joy, pride and excitement. We are sure that an event of this scale was a great stimulus for new achievements for children and young people in various sports.
The World Ice Hockey Championship is an annual tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation since 1930. Latvia has been participating in the championship since the 1933 championship in Prague, but since 1997 it has been playing in the Elite division. So far, the World Ice Hockey Championship has been organized in Latvia three times - in 2006, 2021 and 2023.
