For the sixth year in a row, we, the manufacturer of spring and natural mineral water VENDEN, have been continuing the campaign by planting trees in Latvian cities. Such a donation to Latvian cities is a tradition launched by VENDEN in 2020, each time choosing a city in which one of the company’s branches is located in a public vote. As part of this campaign, Riga, Daugavpils, Cesis, Jelgava and Ventspils have already been greened in previous years, and this year it is Liepaja.
Continuing the improvement of the surrounding environment, in cooperation with representatives of the Municipality and the Department of Public Utilities of Liepaja, in April we planted 14 trees – 4 European larches (Larix decidua), 3 Japanese larches (Larix kaempferi), 4 weeping willows (Salix x sepulcralis), 2 American (Kentucky) yellowwoods (Cladrastis kentukea) and 1 Alpine goldenrod (Laburnum alpinum) – in the park named by Rainis in Liepaja, which will continue to delight the city’s residents and guests.
Representatives of both VENDEN and Liepaja Municipality – Deputy Executive Director for Construction Didzis Jerins, gardener/work manager of the Department of Public Utilities of Liepaja Alda Damberga, as well as other employees of the Department – participated in the event and were involved in the planting work.

With this campaign, we have concluded the cycle we initially started, within the framework of which we supplemented greenery in six cities where VENDEN branches are located, however, we will continue the good work and will definitely plant trees in the future as well!”
The first VENDEN tree planting campaign took place in Riga in 2020, when the park of Ebelmuiza in Ziepniekkalns was supplemented with 15 dendrologically rare trees. In 2021, Daugavpils was chosen in an online vote, where the park of Esplanade was greened with ten specially selected and magnificent trees, while in 2022, 12 Dutch lindens were planted in Cesis, thus complementing the existing city greenery in the Gauja National Park along the VENDEN health trail and on Cirulisu Street near the VENDEN manufacturing plant. In 2023, in cooperation with the Jelgava City Municipality, 10 field maples were planted on the promenade between the swimming pool and the sculpture of the bird’s heart, while last year, an alley in Ventspils was renovated with red horse chestnuts and 6 mountain maples donated by VENDEN.
